Looking for the most romantic restaurant in Boston?

I am looking for a romantic restaurant in Boston. Maybe like fireplace, cozy, candles, that sort of thing. Maybe like an Italian restaurant. Anything but seafood or French food. This is for my boyfriend for out anniversary. I know it’s cheesy for a girl to do this but i want to :)
I was even looking for like jazz restaurants or anything like that with live music that would let you request a song to play (I would ask to play our song) But anyways if anyone knows of any real nice (affordable) romantic restaurants let me know. Something special would be great!

Anywhere in the North End. Check out the prices first if you don’t want to spend a lot. Prices can get very high there. Ristorante Fiore is reasonably priced.

Salvatore’s in South Boston (on the Waterfront) has delicious Italian food and a nice atmosphere. Very good for a date.

Venetian Moon in Reading is great food (Italian) and three pages of martinis. Very loungy/trendy atmosphere.

Tangierino is also very good and romantic. Located in Charlestown. It’s Moroccan food. It’s different so check out the menu first. But definitely romantic.

The Melting Pot in Framingham or Bedford/Burlington. If it’s just the two of you, they will sit you in Lover’s Lane (request it just to make sure). In Lover’s Lane, none of the other tables there can sea each other, so its very intimate with dim lights. It’s a fondue restaurant and very fun.

Good luck!

How much money are you willing to spend to eat a hamburger at a fine dining restaurant?

When you eat at a fine dining restaurant, a hamburger is going to cost a lot more than getting a hamburger from a fast food restaurant. While the cost of the hamburger can cost you $10.00 as oppose to a burger at a fast food place that would cost less than $2.00.

How much money would you say you are willing to spend when you eat a hamburger at a fine dining restaurant?

I say that I am willing to spend $8.00 for a hamburger at a fine dining restaurant.

I am a former chef and while on a trip to Singapore, (I worked there in the 1980′s) a couple of friends and I went to a fine dining place in town, and I had one just because it was on the menu for $50, it was made with Kobe beef, had a slice of foie gras, , truffle and crispy onions on a hand made brioche roll. Not the kind you have ketchup and mustard on, and it was about the size of a normal burger at McD.

Now I would not venture that today, although I had a burger here in Toronto Canada where I live at a place called Jake’s, it was a 10 oz pattie with 3 slices of cheese, 6 slices of bacon and toppings, it weights 2 lbs when garnished and I paid $8.75.

What restaurants are not losing quality to save money?

In the past few months I have noticed that restaurants are using cheaper cuts of meat for steaks and filling our drinks with so much ice that when it melts your coke or whatever it is is so watery that you can’t drink it (no free refills). This has happened in many restaurants in Austin, San Antonio, and Corpus Christi. If anyone knows any good chains or restaurants in these areas please let me know.

Lets take the drinks first. They should not think they are saving money on watering down soft drinks. The syrup only costs a couple cents so ask them for no ice (hell, it’s winter time). If they do not offer free refills, I would no longer visit that restaurant.
As for the cuts of meat, are you saying that they are substituting a different cut or a lower quality meat? If it is a different cut, they are misrepresenting the meat being served and is illegal in most states. If they are using a lower grade of meat, it is legal but they will lose long term customers. What I think here is that they have changed beef suppliers which gives a lower grade. Ask the manager if that is the case and mention that the meat is tougher or is not as tasty. As for other restaurants, to try, you might go after the national chains like Outback or Black Angus orr Lawry’s (I believe you have one in Dallas),. Of course you can try the premium locations like Ruth Chriss or Mortons but make sure you have plenty in your wallet.

I am not aware of Las Vegas Area that well. I am from New york and I need to know a nice and less rowdy place to have a business meeting over for lunch at a restaurant. I neeed to know NOW.. I need to know by Today, if possible. Suggestions where and the location of Las VEGAS. I dont care how far and where as long u know a good restaurant. thanks!

An easy way to do this would be to check a website like Citysearch ( http://www.citysearch.com ) choose Los Vegas as your city and search on your criteria. Anecdotally I heard that Bobby Flay opened a Mesa Grill in Vegas which would probably be a good bet.
